Lahore NAB DG formed new investigation team to probe Ahad Cheema's assets
LAHORE (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday approved fresh investigation into ‘assets beyond means’ of Ahad Cheema.
Director General (DG) of Lahore formed an investigation team to probe Ahad Cheema’s assets.
Sources informed that the new team will probe assets of Cheema, and it will also have the power to freeze his assets until the case is closed.
NAB will request judicial remand of Cheema from accountability court while hearing of Ashiana scheme scandal on March 5. According to sources, the anti-graft body will request judicial remand in assets case if the earlier remand is rejected by court.
More than a week ago, NAB had arrested the former head of the Lahore Development Authority Cheema to question him about his alleged involvement in Lahore’s Ashiana-i-Iqbal Housing Society scam. His wife had Saima Cheema assured him of the support of the whole bureaucracy.
