NAB arrested former LDA DG over corruption allegations in Ashiana housing scheme

LAHORE (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Ahad Cheema, the former Director General (DG) of Lahore Development Authority (LDA), over corruption allegations in the Ashiana Housing Scheme scandal.

Sources within NAB told that ex-DG of LDA was arrested for investigation in the Ashiana scheme corruption case.

Cheema had not appeared before the NAB despite several summon. He was arrested from the MM Alam Road.

He will appear before an accountability court for judicial remand.

NAB Lahore DG confirmed the arrest and said it is regarding the Ashiana scheme probe.

The Punjab government had also formed its special committee regarding the allegations of corruption levelled against Ashiana Housing Scheme. The committee had briefed Punjab chief minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif on the project who appeared before NAB in January.
