Justice (r) Asghar Haider to be appointed NAB prosecutor general

Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has finalized the name of Justice (r) Syed Asghar Haider.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has on Wednesday wrapped up the case regarding the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor general.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar headed the three-member bench that heard the case. Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf Ali told the court that Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has finalized the name of Justice (r) Syed Asghar Haider as the new prosecutor general of the anti-graft watchdog, and a summary to the president has been sent in this regard.

Ashtar Ausaf further told that an official notification will be issued in a day or two after the approval from the president. The CJP remarked that the apex court is concluding the case upon the attorney general’s assurance.
