Three-member committee was formed to probe the suspected extrajudicial killing

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Shah Latif Town SHO has been suspended over the suspected extrajudicial killing of Naqeeb Mehsud in an encounter after police claimed he along with suspected terrorists planned attack on Malir SSP Rao Anwar.

While police claimed that they killed Naqeeb Mehsud as they suspected him of belonging to terrorist network, Sindh opposition party PTI submitted resolution in Sindh Assembly against the extra judicial killing of Naqeeb Mahsud by Sindh police.

Anwar reacted to the flak and told that PTI workers started social media campaign against him. He accused the PTI members of taking revenge from Sindh police. Anwar claimed that the campaign started after they registered case against PTI member Aleem Adil Sheikh.

On the other hand, the funeral prayer of Mehsud was held at his Tank district home. He was laid to rest after the funeral rituals.

The relatives and friends of Mehsud protested against his killing outside the parliament, calling him innocent.

Three-member committee was formed to probe the suspected extrajudicial killing.

Case was registered against an alleged suicide attack on the motorcade of Anwar in Cantonment police station where sections of murder, encounter, explosives and terrorism were included in the case. Anwar claimed to narrowly escaped a terror attack when he departed from his office for his residence. Preliminary probe by police suggested that the three suspected terrorists ambushed the motorcade in cantonment and Anwar survived the attack being in a bullet proof vehicle.

Police sources claimed that Mehsud was involved in terrorist activites in Waziristan while his relatives deny it entirely.
