Important link to catch culprit in Zainab rape case found, claims Punjab govt
The spokesperson told they will soon trace down suspect as forensic reports have been received
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government found important link to catch the culprit in rape and murder case of the 7-year-old Zainab, a spokesperson revealed on Friday.
Talking to media, Ahmed Khan assured that the government of Punjab will soon hold the rapist accountable and punish him for the henious crime.
He told that the law enforcement officials have received forensic reports of the 7-year-old which will help them locate the murderer. “The murderer will soon be arrested,” he assured.
Khan admitted that their government is yet to take a number of measures for the protection of children, adding that meaningful steps are essential. He stressed the need to educate and aware the elders so that such incidents can be avoided in future.
LHC CJ’s ultimatum
The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah had today directed the Punjab Inspector General (IG) to arrest the culprit involved in the rape and murder of seven-year-old girl Zainab in 36 hours. He ordered to utilise the entire police force to capture the accused while hearing of the suo moto notice. He also directed to the Punjab IG to submit report comprising all the rape cases in Punjab. The Punjab IG was summoned by the LHC on immediate basis.
Today, situation in Kasur was recorded to be partially normalised after the two days of Zainab’s brutal murder as the traders called off shutter down strike. As many as 12 children have been killed after rape in Kasur in one year whereas police officers have killed three people involved in such criminal activities.
