FATA conference: Ayesha Gulalai not seated on stage to respect tribal customs
The federal lawmaker left the conference for not being seated on the stage with tribal leaders
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was not allowed to sit on the stage during FATA conference due to which she expressed dissatisfaction and left the event.
According to details, the administration of the conference did not want Gulalai to sit on the stage. She was presented a separate chair behind the stage and reasoned that it would be against the tribal customs for a woman to sit on the stage.
The lawmaker argued for a sometime with the organisers which included the JUI-F and PML-N leaders. They did not accept her demand as it was not in line with tribal traditions.
She was told that if she doesn’t want to sit in the public then she should sit behind the stage. Gulalai refused to accept the offer and protested against the administration by leaving the conference.

The former PTI leader had announced to launch her own party by the first week of January. She had made the all-important announcement in a press talk during her visit to Nowshehra. Gulalai made an appeal to all ideological workers of PTI to join hands with her in the new party.
She will make her new party public during the next year and ahead of 2018 general elections. Talking to journalists, she said that the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) of PTI has failed to deliver and provide security to the residents.
