LEAs apprehend 18 terrorist facilitators, smugglers in Punjab, Islamabad
The raids were conducted under the umbrella of Pakistan Army's Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Pakistan Rangers Punjab along with other law enforcement agencies apprehended eighteen terrorist facilitators and smugglers during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Islamabad, Lahore, Sargodha and Bahawalpur, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Friday.
Cache of illegal weapons, ammunition including sub machine guns, pistols, repeaters and drugs were recovered.
Earlier today, the security forces carried out search operations in Village Shashi Khel, North Wazirstan Agency and Kanda Garhi, Lower Orakzai.
Cache of weapons and ammunition including 12.7 mm gun, SMGs, missiles, 82 mm mortars rounds, grenades, ammunition of various calibre and explosives were recovered during the raids.
The raids were conducted under the umbrella of Pakistan Army’s Operation ’Radd-ul-Fasaad’. It was launched in February this year to indiscriminately eliminate residual / latest threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders.
Radd-ul-Fasaad involves conduct of broad spectrum security and counter terrorism operations by Rangers in Punjab.
