Opposition to table Elections (Amendment) Bill 2017 in NA tomorrow

Senate has already adopted the bill.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News)- Opposition is all set to table Elections (Amendment) Bill 2017 in National Assembly (NA) tomorrow.

The bill bars disqualified person from becoming party’s chairperson.

As per details garnered, Pakistan Muslim League President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has telephoned NA speaker Ayaz Sadiq in this regard and directed him to ensure presence of all lawmakers of ruling party in tomorrow’s session possible.

Opposition parties are expected to present bill on lower house of the parliament on Tuesday.

It is pertinent to mention here that Senate has already adopted Elections (Amendment) Bill 2017 with 49 votes in favour and 18 votes against it.
