Kalabagh: Houses damaged, crops destroyed as embankment breaks

After an embankment broke on river Karam in Kalabagh, nearby villages drowned and more than 500 houses were damaged. Thousands of acres of crops were also destroyed.

According to the resident, the local government had made the embankment. The width of the embankment was not kept wide enough and due to the rampant river the embankment could not withstand the pressure and broke.As a result, Wanda Kali Khel, Numberdaran Wala and Cheena Wala were submerged in water in the area of Kuchh in Tehsil Isa Khel. Due to the rampant waters, 500 houses were destroyed and thousands of acres of crops wheat and mustard were destroyed
