Maleeha Lodhi said that Pakistan would effectively respond to any Indian aggression across LoC.

NEW YORK (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi while speaking at a debate at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday said that India’s repeated threats to carry out surgical strikes inside Pakistan are flagrant violation of the UN Charters s injunctions against the use or threat of use of force.

Maleeha Lodhi said that repeated threats by India are flagrant violation of the UN Charters s injunctions against the use or threat of use of force and added that the UN should not ignore India s open threats to use force.

“Do not underestimate the resolve and capacity of Pakistan to defend itself,” she said. Maleeha Lodhi further said that any aggression or intervention by India will meet matching and effective response from armed forces, people of Pakistan.

She said that India s daily violations of the LoC are efforts to divert world attention from its crimes against the Kashmiri people. She further said that Kashmiris have waged a heroic and popular struggle against Indian occupation.

Maleeha Lodhi said that India has killed hundreds of innocent and unarmed Kashmiris in recent months and added that countless Kashmiris have been blinded and maimed by pellet guns. She said that Indian security forces are responsible for first ‘mass blinding’ in human history. “The only terrorism in Kashmir is India s state terrorism,” she said.

She said that Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir is a travesty of justice, law and morality. People of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir still await implementation of numerous Security Council resolutions.
