Rangers have held a letter written by Operations Wing SSP the reason for arriving at the complex

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Sources have reported on Tuesday (October 3rd) that a fact finding report has been received by interior secretary which states that the district administration did not order Rangers to guard the judicial complex and the paramilitary force took up positions on their own.

Interior minister Ahsan Iqbal was barred from entering the judicial complex by Rangers personnel, earlier this week to attend hearing of accountability court of reference against disqualified premier Nawaz Sharif.

The minister chastised Rangers presence in the complex which according to him was neither ordered by the ministry nor by any wing of the civil administration. He ordered immediate filing of a report in the issue for necessary action.

He said that there cannot be a state within a state and that he would tender his resignation if he is reduced to a puppet minister.

The report that was filed today states that Rangers took up positions at the main gate and in the premises at 07:00am and declared that no one would enter the complex except for Nawaz Sharif.

According to the report, Rangers cited a letter written by Operations Wing Senior Superintendent of Police for arriving at the complex whereas the letter was turned down.

Reportedly, deputy commissioner was written to for deployment of Rangers at the judicial facility but the plea was turned down. 

Accountability watchdog was ordered by the apex court on July 28 to file corruption references against Nawaz Sharif after he was ousted in Panama Papers case.
