Pakistani student receives Oxford University's prestigious award

(Web Desk) – A Pakistani woman has been awarded the prestigious and highest academic honour as an MBA student at the University of Oxford, UK.

Kanza Azeemi received the respected Saïd Prize after she successfully completed her MBA from Saïd Business School at Oxford University. Azeemi excelled her achievement among a class of 327 students from 58 countries, according to Lahore University of Management Sciences website.

Azeemi’s award was announced by Peter Tufano, the dean of Saïd Business School. She was awarded in a prestigious end of course ceremony held at the university’s centuries-old Sheldonian Theatre.



The Saïd Prize is awarded to one MBA student for their outstanding academic excellence and contribution to the MBA programme and the wider Oxford community, the statement added.

Dean Tufano before presenting the award acclaimed Azeemi’s position on the Dean’s Honour List and the events she organised as the elected Co-Chair of the Women’s Leadership Oxford Business Network, promoting women in leadership positions and striving for gender equality.

He praised the multiple events that she had organised throughout the year that contributed positively to her peers  MBA experience and mentioned that the school will ensure that the International Women s Day activities that Azeemi has pioneered are organised annually.

She graduated from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore (LUMS) in Economics with distinction in 2013.

"I am proud that this award was given to the only Pakistani student in the class and as an alumna of both LUMS and Oxford, I am keen to work towards building a stronger relationship between the two institutions, particularly the business schools,” Azeemi stated on her achievement.
