Information Minister refuted reports about a draft bill being tabled in the National Assembly

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb on Monday said that PML-N government is not tabling a bill to regulate the print media. She said that the news about a certain bill was false, reported Dunya News.

She said that she refutes any such news about a bill to regulate print media. “I have formed a three-member committee to investigate the news, the report will be made public,” she said.

Aurangzaib further told that the relevant director has been demoted to the post of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and the assistant director has been suspended. “I’ll do a press conference after once the inquiry report is finalized,” she said.
Aurangzaib alleged that her name was used to fake four letters that were later shared on social media.

Information Minister said that it is my duty to aid media and journalists. She said that bill regarding access to information were passed in PML-N’s government.
