Magnitude 5.0 earthquake jolts Islamabad, other cities
The epicenter of the earthquake was in Mingora near Swat at the depth of 17 kilometres.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted federal capital Islamabad, parts of Punjab and several cities in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday evening, Dunya News reported.
The tremor which struck at 5:15pm was felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Mardan, Shangla, Swat and Mingora City.
People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No loss of life was reported due to earthquake.
According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Mingora near Swat at the depth of 17 kilometres.
