MQM Pakistan-called APC was postponed today owing to absence of parties

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan chief Dr Farooq Sattar has said on Tuesday (August 22) that the party detached with MQM founder after August 22, 2016 but ‘the political parties of Pakistan validated his condemnable action’.

As Dr Sattar announced postponement of the All Parties Conference (APC) before the media, he complained that the political parties ‘rejected resolution of MQM Pakistan shown on August 23, 2016’.

According to MQM Pakistan chief, his party detached with MQM founder and political parties distancing themselves from MQM Pakistan are ‘picking London chapter’s side’.

On the other hand, Nisar Khuhro of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has denied Dr Sattar’s claim by asserting that his participation was conditional to in-party consultation and that he had not confirmed his participation.

It should be mentioned here that the APC that was scheduled for today had to be postponed owing to absence of parties’ representatives.

MQM-P had invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Awami National Party and Functional League, members of which refused to attend the grand meeting. Revised date of the conference will soon be announced.
