Sattar explains why MQM-P supported Abbasi for premiership
Opposition parties were not serious for premier elections, said Farooq Sattar.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Chief Dr Farooq Sattar said that his party unconditionally supported Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) candidate Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in prime minister elections.
According to details, Dr Farooq Sattar, Qamar Mansoor, Rauf Siddiqui and others appeared before Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in provocative speech and attack on media house cases. MQM leader Amir Khan reached the court with a delay over which he submitted a written apology.
Talking to media after the hearing, Farooq Sattar said that Governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair is concerned about the development in the province. He also credited him for struggling for improving relations with PML-N.
Opposition parties were not serious for premier elections as they failed to nominate joint candidate, he added.
On the other hand, the court has issued non-bailable warrants for MQM founder and other absconders and adjourned the hearing till August 19.
