LAHORE (Dunya News) – Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz on Wednesday took charge as the new Punjab Inspector General in a ceremony held in IG office Lahore.
Smartly turned-out personnel of the police force presented guard of honour to Punjab IG whose appointement was being delayed for quite a long time.

Speaking on the occasion, Arif Nawaz said that the sacrifices laid by the police martyrs are a leading light for him. He stressed that the sacrificies will not go in vain.
“Police personnel have been targeted in Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab. Our police have been well-trained. They should work with passion and eliminate the terror elements,” he said.

Responding to a question, he said that he will continue the good work already happening in the department. “Change will be brought wherever it is needed. Punjab police will strive to improve its performance,” he said.
He answered the questions of media in a relax and calm mood. When inquired about uniform change, he said that the matter will be considered jointly by the authorities.”
