Rain in Lahore and other cities, snow fall on Murree hill tops

Lahore and other cities observed rain and snowfall was observed on the Murree hill tops as the cold weather returned. Whereas the national highway and the Indus highway in Sindh were shut down due to heavy fog. The flow of traffic was hence disrupted. Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and other northern areas were hit by rain. In Sindh and Baluchistan scattered rain was observed but there was snowfall in Murree, Gilgit-Baltistan and other mountainous areas.

According to the Meteorological Department Of Pakistan, rain was observed in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and snowfall on the mountain tops. A thunderstorm was followed by rain in some of the higher regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Lahore and other regions in Punjab. There is also a prediction of snowfall on the mountain tops in the northern regions of Pakistan.In the last 24 hours, a record 72 millimeters of rain was reported in Murree. Rawalkot had 71 millimeters, Kotli had 63 millimeters, Ghari dupatta had 59 millimeters, Dir and Kakul had 50 millimeters of rain.Saidpur in Islamabad recorded 47 millimeters of rain, Chaklala has 46 millimeters, Zero point in Islamabad had 41 millimeters, Mangla had 32 millimeters, Chitral had 31 millimeters and in Jehlum 28 millimeters of rain was recorded.Similarly in the last 24 hours, Kalam had 25 inches of snowfall, Malam Jabba had 20 inches of snowfall and 3.5 inches of snowfall was recorded in Drosh.The Meteorological Department Of Pakistan has predicted that the current weather situation will remain unchanged for the next 2 days.
