FIA, relatives of Zafar Hijazi manhandle journalists at PIMS Hospital
Journalists of a private TV channel were tortured by FIA officials and relatives of Zafar Hijazi.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Chairman Zafar Hijazi was taken into custody on Friday by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after a special court dismissed his interim pre-arrest bail application in a case pertaining to tampering with records of Chaudhry Sugar Mills owned by the Sharif family.
Zafar Hijazi fell ill during FIA interrogation and was brought to PIMS Hospital for different medical tests. The FIA officials and relatives of Zafar Hijazi manhandled a team of a private TV channel including a female reporter while they were performing their professional duties during the production of former SECP Chairman in PIMS hospital.
Relatives of former SECP Chairman brutally toured a young journalist while FIA officials manhandled the female reporter and her male colleague and locked them up in a room.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan while taking notice of the incident has sought an immediate report.
