Food regulators to hire body builders for officials' safety in raids

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Food Authority (PFA) is reportedly to recruit 300 wrestlers and body builders to check manhandling of officials in crackdown against harmful manufacturing of food items.

The development has come in after PFA officials were taken hostage more than once by resisting violators of the law during multiple raids.

Reportedly, the recruits would be given Rs 25,000 allowance in addition to ration to maintain their physiques and take care of their builds.

PFA has disposed off thousands of litres of adulterated milk besides seizing several factories and imposing fines on a number of eateries across the province in the recent past.
