The leaders from ruling party said the appearance of PM Nawaz before JIT is a historic moment

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders have raised concerns on Monday over claims made by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for Panama case that government institutions were forging documents in favour of the Sharif family.

They said it will be a historic moment when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appears before JIT, adding that JIT head Wajid Zia had admitted the picture was leaked by one of their member.

While talking to media, Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb said PM Nawaz decided to appear before JIT for the supremacy of the constitution and judiciary. “It is a historic moment for the country,” she added.

She recalled that previous leaders had never appeared in such cases and made excuses like back pain or security threats.

PML-N leaders declared the claims of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to be false. Daniyal Aziz said their objections on JIT members have been proven right today. He highlighted that witnesses were being forced to become approvers.
