No evidence of Noreen Leghari's brainwashing in university campus, says VC

The alleged female terror suspect was arrested in Lahore last week.

HYDERABAD (Dunya News) - Liaquat University of Medical Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Noshad A. Shaikh on Monday addressed media personnel and said alleged terror suspect Noreen was a humble girl and she usually preferred solitude. 

Noshad further stated that Noreen was an intelligent student who usually secured excellent grades in exams. He mentioned that alleged terror suspect Noreen had befriended two Muslims and two Hindu girls in university.

It is possible that Noreen may has met someone on social media but for that university can’t be held responsible, said the vice chancellor.



It is pertinent here to mention that the female terror suspect was arrested following a police encounter in Lahore on Friday night in Punjab Society. One terrorist was killed and Noreen was detained along with two accomplices.

Sources reveal that the suspect had recently travelled to Syria. She is being interrogated for her alleged links with Daesh (Islamic State).

According to her family members, she had gone missing from Hyderabad on February 10, 2017.

Jabbar Leghari, the father of Noreen Laghari had lodged a complaint with Hussainabad police in Hyderabad after her disappearance.
