Punjab govt, Sargodha DC differs on motive behind shrine massacre

A JIT has been formed over the incident which will present report in 24 hours.

SARGODHA (Dunya News) – Punjab government and Sargodha Deputy Commissioner are not on the same page regarding the shrine massacre that claimed 20 lives.

Punjab government spokesperson Malik Muhammad Khan has said that the incident could be related to rivalry for the control of shrine.

He asserted that the shrine does not comes under the provincial government and Auqaf department.

However; Sargodha Deputy Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta says that the matter does not seems to of taking hold of the shrine.

Meanwhile, provincial minister Zaeem Qadri has announced stern action against fake pir. He told that Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has been formed which will present report in 24 hours.

Atleast 20 people including three women were tortured to death on Saturday night by the custodian of a shrine in Sargodha.

Police have arrested seven suspects alongwith the 50-year-old shrine custodian Abdul Waheed.
