LeJ's Asif Chotu gunned down in Sheikhupura

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Rizwan Ali alias Asif Chotu, emir of a banned outfit who was killed on Tuesday night had allegedly planned terror attacks on Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif among several notable persons.
Asif Chotu was a local leader of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) who was killed near Sheikhupura bypass in an encounter with security forces among two accomplices Shakirullah Noorulain.
The federal government had announced Rs 3 million head money for the terrorist.
He was involved in numerous sectarian target killings in Karachi and other areas. He was wanted in cases over murders of nephew of Allama Taalib Johri named Ibn-e-Hassan, two Irani nationals and killing of eight persons in a hotel among others.
Asif Chotu was the man behind attacks on different religious places and murder of employee of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Abdul Aleem.
Reportedly, he used to receive extortion money in Orakzai Agency from affluent persons in Karachi. Sources privy to the security agency, he was able to make suicide vests and knew explosives. He was earlier arrested and served seven years in prison before acquiring bail in 2012.
