Rangers carried our 1,992 operations in province, arresting 2,897 criminals, heavy weapons recovers

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Rangers have released their annual performance report for the year 2016 on Thursday, reported Dunya News.

According to the report, the Rangers carried out 1,992 operations in the province in which they arrested 2,897 criminals.
The arrested criminals included 350 members of a banned outfit apart from 446 target killers, 72 extortionist and 26 kidnappers which took ransom.

Moreover, the report suggests that Rangers recovered heavy weaponry from the terrorists in Karachi and throughout the province of Sindh from 1845 different areas. The weaponry included 1,94,579 bullets.

It must also be noted that the recovered weaponry consisted bombs and explosives. It was once stated that Karachi has averted from a huge disaster after Rangers identified different armories of terrorist organizations.

A spokesperson of Rangers told Dunya News that the operation in Karachi has resulted in massive drop of criminal activities. Target killing, extortion and kidnapping have become as low as 91 percent, 93 percent and 96 percent respectively.
