PK-661 crash: Eight bodies identified at PIMS

Five bodies have been identified until filing of this report

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Bodies of eight passengers of crashed PK-661 flight have been identified on Thursday at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

Bodies were shifted to different hospitals in the federal capital for identification through DNA tests.

Reportedly, eight bodies have been identified until filing of this report while blood sample of late Junaid Jamshed’s brother has been extracted as well.

Three passengers belonging to Chitral were identified by names Fareed Aziz, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Takbeer while Sami Ullah was from Dera Ghazi Khan and Ahsan Ghaffar from Rawalpindi.



Army dedicated three copters to shift bodies from Abbottabad to Jinnah Sports Complex in Islamabad from where ambulances were used to shift those to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Process of extracting blood samples of victims’ relatives is underway.

Reportedly, eight bodies were shifted to PIMS, one to Poly Clinic, 18 to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), five District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) and two bodies were shifted to Capital Development Authority (CDA) Hospital.

According to administration of the hospitals, a medical board was formed to handover bodies to the grieving families.

PK-661 flight of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) crashed around ten kilometers of Havelian while it was on way to Islamabad from Chitral.

Renowned religious scholar and face of former music band, Junaid Jamshed and District Coordination Officer (DCO) of Chitral, Usama Warraich was among the 48 passengers on board the flight on Wednesday.
