PM approves renaming QAU's physics dept after Abdus Salam
The premier has instructed authorities to forward the summary to the president
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has approved on Monday to name Centre for Physics in Quaid-e-Azam University after Pakistan’s first ever Nobel laureate, Professor Abdus Salam.
Spokesperson for the PM House reported that number of scholarships for Philosophy of Doctor (PhD) in the department has been increased to five and centre would be named after late Salam. Name of the scholarship programme is also namesake of the Physics scholar.
The premier has instructed authorities to forward the summary to the president for approval.
