Shehbaz furious over robberies despite spending billions on resources
Punjab CM ordered arresting perpetrators behind murder of 5 in Millat Park, robbery in Garden Town
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif has on Tuesday ordered the arrests of the perpetrators behind the murder of five people in Millat Park and the robbery in Garden Town within 72 hours. He was furious over the incidents, reported Dunya News.
Addressing a high level meeting at CM House, Shehbaz Sharif was livid with the performance of the law enforcement agencies. He said that billions were spent on equipping the police with latest tools and training yet such incidents were taking place in broad daylight on traffic signals. He said that these incidents raised a big question mark over the performance of the police and other law enforcement agencies. He was presented with the initial reports on the robbery in Garden Town and a failed robbery on Lower Mall.
CM said that the police at any cost must arrest the perpetrators behind the robbery in Garden Town and murders in Millat Park within next 72 hours. He said that such incidents in a city like Lahore were tragic and raised question mark on police performance.
He further said that he was responsible for the security of the people of the province and would go any limits to fulfill his responsibility. He said that nothing could justify such horrific incidents and the perpetrators won’t be able to escape justice.
“This is extremely tragic that such incidents are taking place despite spending billions of rupees on police training, their equipment and resources. Where were Dolphin force and PERU force at the time of these crimes”, asked Shehbaz Sharif.
