Religious party activists protest against arrests of leaders in Karachi
A large number of MWM activists gathered in Malir-15 and staged a demonstration.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen s (MWM) activists on Monday continued their protested against the arrest of religious leaders in Karachi.
A large number of MWM activists gathered in Malir-15 and staged a demonstration and demanded to release the detained leaders.
The protesters tried to shut the railway track and also stopped a train.

Reacting to the situation, police resorted to intense shelling on the protesters. Rangers contingent also arrived at the scene and dispersed MWM activists while collaborating with the police.
The protest led to a worst traffic jam on the National Highway as long queues of vehicles were witnessed.

The protest is still ongoing whereas heavy of contingent of police and Rangers are present on the location.
Rangers have detained religious leaders Allama Mirza Yousaf Hussain and Taj Hanfi in the last two days over accusations of provocative speech.
