MQM denounces London office: Farooq Sattar

Dunya News

Those who raised slogans against Pakistan should form another party, says MQM leader

KARACHI (Web Desk) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar while addressing a press conference on Tuesday along with party leaders Khawaja Izharul Hassan and Amir Liaquat stated that every single person associated with MQM denounces the slogans raised yesterday. He also said that the party denounces the attacks on the offices of private news channels and distances from the party s office in London.

Dr Farooq Sattar stated that whatever happened in Karachi yesterday (Monday) was utmost horrible, adding that such slogans were raised against Pakistan which should have never been raised. He said that it was MQM s stated policy since the party s inception that the party was supposed to unite the people of Pakistan and enquired that how can things go the other way around then.

He said that MQM was registered in Pakistan, it believed in the country s constitution thus it was essential that the party gets operated from Pakistan as well. He added that the entire party and every single worker associated with it gets ridiculed because of one mistake. Farooq Sattar stated that his integrity and that of the mahajir community should not be viewed with suspicion from time and again.

"Party disowns all such moves which incite violence," Farooq Sattar said, further stating that it was not MQM s policy to achieve its goals through the use of violence. He stated that if slogans were raised against Pakistan then it should be considered that why were those slogans being raised again and again. "Such a move shall not be made from MQM s platform ever again," he said.

He stated that all decisions of MQM shall be made in Pakistan from now onwards. Dr Farooq Sattar said that those who raised slogans against Pakistan should form another political party. He said that anti-Pakistan slogans cannot be tolerated, adding that making such statements was not part of the party s policy. "Some statements are beyond defendable," he stated.

Dr Farooq Sattar condemned the attacks on media houses and demanded that MQM s headquarters, Nine-zero, be re-opened along with other party offices that were shut down after the violent incidents that took place yesterday.

He stated that the press conference he was addressing today was intended to take place yesterday but the party was not allowed to present its stance after the unrest in Karachi on Monday. He added that the media address may give the impression that the words of some other force were being uttered, adding that he shall present the same stance of the party which was to be presented yesterday.
