9 Pakistanis die as building catches fire in Kuwait

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

KUWAIT CITY (Dunya News) – Nine natives of Mian Channu, including 5 children, 3 women and a man were burnt to death on Thursday as a residential building caught fire in Kuwait City.

Muhammad Asif, his wife, two sons Muhammad Umar, Muhammad Hamza, two daughters Javeria and Areej, Asif’s mother Nasreen Bibi, his sister-in-law and nephew were among those who died.

The incident happened in Kuwait’s city Farwaniya, where fire broke out because of short circuit. Muhammad Asif’s brother, Muhammad Tariq was severely injured and was in critical condition.

Foreign Office spokesperson has said that Pakistani Embassy has deputed officials to facilitate transportation of bodies to Mian Channu.
