Punjab Home Ministry has decided to replace the ineffective CCTV cameras.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – About 72 percent of the surveillance cameras installed in Punjab and Sindh provinces are not efficient enough to serve the purpose of their installation, reported on Thursday.

According to interior ministry sources, the CCTV cameras placed on the monitoring of important places in Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad are substandard and cannot work effectively.

The footages recorded by these cameras are either blur or distorted that it cannot help in recognizing the criminals.

Governments of Punjab and Sindh have conducted more than eight sessions in two and a half years but no implementation on improving the condition of cameras installed on roads and other important buildings have yet been carried out.

On the other hand, the Punjab Home Ministry has decided to replace the ineffective CCTV cameras for the better security arrangements in the provinces.
