Govt decides to allocate Rs12 bn development budget to AJK

Azad Kashmir will get twelve billion rupees under the development budget for the year 2016-17.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – In comparison with the previous budget, the federal government this time has decided to revise Azad Kashmir’s development budget by only Rs500 million.

Azad Kashmir will get twelve billion rupees under the development budget for the year 2016-17.

According to finance department sources, Rs7,919 million have been earmarked for infrastructure, Rs2,229 mn for social sector and Rs1,891 mn have been proposed for production sectors.

Rs4,499 mn have been allocated to communication, Education Rs1,270 mn, energy Rs1,240 mn, development authorities Rs650 mn, health Rs410 mn, agriculture Rs357 mn, lolcal government Rs650 mn and Rs425 mn have been fixed for forest department.
