Section 144 violation: Khawaja Asif takes dip in Sialkot canal

SIALKOT (Web Desk) – A video has emerged showing Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif taking dip in a canal in Sialkot, violating the section 144 imposed by the district government, Dunya News reported.
After attending an open ‘open kachehri’, the Minister arrived at Motra Canal along with his friends including MPA Manshaullah Butt, former deputy mayor Babar Khan, expected chairman of municipal corporation Chaudhry Tauheed Akhtar and others.
Khawaja Asif jumped into the canal along with his friends despite imposition of Section 144 by the district administration that bars locals from entering rivers and canals.
Motra Station House Officer (SHO) Rai Safdar Hussain stated that citizens are strictly prohibited from swimming in the canals.
“Action could not be taken on that day because it was my off-day on Sunday,” he asserted.
