Mother's Day: Edhi Center's forgotten moms anxiously wait for children
These abandoned mothers spent their Mother's Day reminiscing about and praying for their children.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – With prayers on tongue and eyes searching desperately, forgotten moms abandoned long ago at Edhi Center wait anxiously for any signs of their beloved children, once again, on this Mother’s Day as well. But all hopes will be crushed once again, as none of their beloveds will show.
Mother’s are those exalted figures which can go to any extent to protect their children from every misery and danger. She’s a woman who sacrifices and bears everything, just for the sake of her little ones.
But there are some heartless people in our society, who intentionally distance these honoured souls from themselves. The mothers residing in Edhi Homes are a living, breathing examples of such incidents.
Abandoned at the Center by the very hands she nurtured, these blessful mothers are still seen only praying for their children on every Mother’s Day, despite the condemnable treatment by their offspring.
These individuals have never set foot at Edhi Center since the day they left their mothers, but still these women are desperate for just a sight of their children. These mothers are seen reminiscing about the times when their children were young. These women spent the entire Mother’s Day in an anxious wait for their kids or just playing games that their children loved.
And for all their pain, these kind hearted souls just had this to say to their offspring:
“Our children are innocent, even if they did decide to abandon us here. We can feel the pain whenever our children are in distress and we pray for their happiness and prosperity every single day.”
