Supreme Court rejected petition against Maliha Lodhi
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court on Wednesday has rejected the petition against Pakistan’s envoy to United Nations (UN) Maliha Lodhi over delivering speech in English language instead of Urdu, reported Dunya News.
A 3-member bench headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmad heard the case regarding the declaration of Urdu as the state language. Supreme Court also rejected the petition against Maliha Lodhi.
Lawyer for the applicant Advocate Kaukab Iqbal said that instead of Urdu, Maliha delivered her speech in English. Declaring Urdu as official state language, court has summoned the government over the implementation of the orders and rejected petition against Maliha.
