Panama Papers leak: PPP demands PM Nawaz's resignation
The party members insisted NAB and judiciary to take stern action against the perpetrators.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Tuesday has demanded resignation from Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif after the onset of the Panama Leaks that showed his family’s alleged involvement in making vast, unchecked investments overseas.
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in a tweet, stated that the PM might blame PPP for the Panama Leaks.
Has he blamed us for the leak yet? #PanamaPapers #pmspeech

PPP leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf asked the premier to immediately resign, saying that Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz have not declared their complete assets.
On the other hand, Aitzaz Ahsan asked for the magic that created property worth billions. He also urged National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to launch investigation against PM Nawaz and his family as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Khurshid Shah also lashed out at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief and asked why he hid the offshore companies when they are legal.
Qamar-uz Zaman Kaira alleged that no accountability process can touch PML-N leaders as they run it according to their own interests. He said Nawaz Sharif has transferred his money abroad through money laundering.
PPP member Manzoor Wattoo also stepped into the debate and insisted the judiciary and NAB to take stern action against the perpetrators.
Earlier, a massive leak of 11.5 million documents had exposed secret offshore dealings of celebrities and world leaders.
The report revealed that Hussain and Hasan Nawaz Sharif, and Mariam Safdar, the sons and daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, set up at least four offshore companies in British Virgin Islands (BVI). These companies owned at least six upmarket properties overlooking London‘s Hyde Park.
Thousands of Mossack Fonseca (MF) documents reviewed and subsequent enquiries reveal that the Sharif family mortgaged four of these properties to the Deutsche Bank (Suisse) SA for a loan of GBP 7 million and the Bank of Scotland part financed the purchase of two other apartments.
While talking in Dunya News programme “Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Saath”, Hussain Nawaz stated that whatever has been mentioned in the recently disclosed classified information regarding the secret possessions of world leaders in the Panama leaks is true. He added that Maryam Nawaz does not own any possession in the form of property.
He challenged his critics to bring forth accurate information regarding any piece of land owned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif.
