President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the Competition Commission Bill 2010. He said that sustainable peace in Karachi was only possible with a strong alliance of PPP, MQM and ANP. In a meeting with a delegation of Association of Builders in Bilawal House Karachi, the President said that if the builders want Dubai-like atmosphere in the city, they must exert pressure on the three political factions for establishing peace in the city. He said that stern action against land grabbers may help establish peace in the city. He asked the Sindh Government to legislate against land-grabbing and computerize the land record of Karachi. He urged that the builders should cooperate with the Sindh government in order to modernize Karachi. On this occasion, the builders assured him to pay tax if across-the-board tax is imposed.
