Chairman WAPDA says 969 megawatt hydro-power project's first phase to complete on June 2017
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chairman Wapda Zafar Mahmood has said on Thursday that the first unit of 242 megawatts of Neelum–Jhelum Hydropower project will be completed on June 2017.
According to the declaration issued by the Chairman of Wapda the other units of same capacity will be completed in the following year of the completion of first phase.
The report says 70 percent of work of the project has been completed and on completion it will include more than 5 billion units of electricity in the national grid.
According to the experts hydro-power is the cheapest source of producing electricity and these will help curb the electricity crisis.
