Summary PM Nawaz announced cutting power tariff for industries from January onwards by Rs 3
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Monday has said that production of 10,000 MW power would start by the end of 2017 while another 15,000 MW would be added by 2025.
In an address to participants of Karachi export awards ceremony, the PM said that five-year tenure passes by in a jiffy while the government is still settling in to tackle the challenges.
PM Nawaz said that pieces of land have been acquired or Diamir and Bhasha dams. He has ordered the provincial authorities to have Bin Qasim power plant completed by December 2017, he added.
The Prime Minister said that the armed forces are accumulating success in operations against extremist outfits. The PM congratulated Pakistan Rangers Director General (DG) Major General Bilal Akbar, Sindh Police Inspector General (IG) and Chief Secretary for targeted operation that is rendering success in Sindh’s metropolitan.
The PM said that there is a clear difference in Karachi s condition today from what it was three years ago.

Earlier, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah recieved the Prime Minister at ariport on his daylong visit. PM Nawaz reviewed site of Port Qasim power plant. The plant is stated to produce at least 1,320 MW electricity after completion.

The Prime Minister has summoned Qaim Ali Shah to the federal capital to discuss Rangers issue. In response, the Sindh Chief Minister has said that he would consult Pakistan People s Party (PPP) leadership first.

Earlier, the federation had turned down Sindh s recommendations and issued notification of restoration of exclusive powers of Pakistan Rangers. Following federation s strong stance the former president Asif Ali Zardari termed it an attack on Sindh while on December 27, Bilawal termed the National Action Plan (NAP), Nawaz-League Action Plan .
