Lahore rape case suspects sent on three-day physical remand

The victim's family has demanded justice and stern action against the suspects.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Court on Monday remanded eight suspects of Lahore gang-rape case in three-day police custody.

According to details, the suspects were presented before the court amid tight security by the Race Course police who requested the judge to grant 10-day remand of the suspects for interrogation of the case.

The suspects lawyers however opposed the remand and argued against it.

The court after listening to both the parties accepted sent the suspects on three-day physical remand and also directed to conduct their DNA.

Police has also included kidnapping section in the case.

The eight suspects including the key person Adnan Sanaullah nominated in the FIR of the case were arrested on immediate basis by the police as the government took notice of the incident and directed police to nab the culprits as soon as possible.

Initially, seven of the suspects were arrested after which the main suspect Adnan Sanaullah also surrendered before the police.

DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf has stated that all the aspects of the case will be included in the interrogation whereas further proceedings will be made after DNA report.

The victim’s family has demanded justice and stern action against the suspects.

On the other hand, the main suspect Adnan has said that he has been falsely accused of the crime.
