Extension for Rangers subject to permission from Sindh Assembly
CM Qaim Ali Shah linked extension to Rangers with the permission from Sindh’s provincial assembly
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah has on Tuesday subjected the extension to Rangers with the permission from Sindh Assembly, reported Dunya News.
Addressing a technical education program here in Karachi, Sindh CM said that police and Rangers have done some brilliant things for the peace of the city. He added that Rangers will be given the extension after the discussions and permission will be requested from Sindh Assembly in this regard.
Qaim Ali Shah said that he has excellent relations with the federal government but funds are also required.
It is pertinent to mention here that CM Qaim Ali Shah had assured of extending the powers of Rangers in the meeting of Sindh Apex Committee yesterday.

Chairing a high level meeting at Governor House to discuss peace in Karachi, PM said that Karachi operation should have started 7 or 8 years ago. The meeting was also attended by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and the heads of other intelligence agencies.
PM said on this occasion that the operation cannot be stopped and it should have started way back instead. He said that peace in the city has improved due to which the business activities have seen a boost. He added that the federal government completely supported the provincial government and the security institutions in Karachi operation.
Nawaz said that the arrests made are no parameter for the success of the operation. He said that the performance can only be gauged through the attainment of the targets. “It is needed to be seen where the miscreants are receiving the funding from. Measures have to be taken to bar the miscreants from reforming their lines”, he said.
Prime Minister also expressed displeasure over weak prosecution and investigations.
Briefing PM during the meeting, IG Sindh told that the suspects of the attack on military police vehicle have been arrested. He told that the terrorists are also involved in the attacks on Rangers in Baldia and Ittehad towns. He told that the suspects are being trained.
