PM announces establishment of National Disaster Management Council
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani chaired a special session of the National Disaster Management Commission. He announced the formation of National Disaster Management Council. During the meeting, PM said that it is worth mentioning that the government response to the floods is not only to provide relief and rescue but rehabilitation as well as regenerating lively hood for farmers. He added that the government will ensure that aid reaches to the worst affected inaccessible areas.PM highlighted that the government is trying to control the out break of pandemic. He appraised the efforts of the armed forces.I salute the Pakistan Army and Air Force who have risen to the challenge, Gilani said.The citizen and civil society have made exemplary efforts. Thousands of people are actively involve in the rescue and relief, the premier said. PM Gilani also thanked the international community for their continued support for the flood victims.
