PTI leaders paid salutes to army men for ensuring peace in the election

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Accepting results of NA-122 by-election, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Sarwar on Monday said they will protest fully if evidence of vote transfer is found, Dunya News reported.

Addressing a press conference, PTI chief said some of PTI voters were allegedly transferred to other constituencies, which is illegal. He said voters faced humiliation at polling stations due to mismanagement.

Sarwar accepted the results of the contest “but with reservations”, adding that there will be massive protests if evidence of rigging is found.

He said Aleem Khan contested against provincial and federal institutions, adding that the code of conduct was openly violated at the by-election because federal and provincial ministers cannot partake in election campaign.

PTI leader said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should not get any ideas because “if we can get so many votes in one constituency, we’re very much organized in Punjab and rest of Pakistan”.

PTI’s defeated candidate Aleem Khan claimed that they received the voters list by NADRA after issuance of the schedule and alleged that votes of several of his voters had been changed to other constituencies.

He said voters were registered in his constituency from outside and that he will soon present evidence of it to the media.

PTI leaders paid salutes to army men for ensuring peace in the election.

PTI chairman Imran Khan earlier said that his party is investigating the number of PTI votes thrown out of NA-122 by-election at the last minute.

In a message posted on Twitter, Imran Khan said he will approach the Election Commission of Pakistan after completion of the investigation.

Khan said this is a moral victory for PTI as they have successfully challenged the PMLN in their stronghold. He said this election will strengthen the PTI.

He further remarked that the PTI members will learn from their mistakes and counter “rigging tactics” by the ruling PML-N.

Removing names from voter lists is not even possible: Saad Rafique

Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Monday rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s allegation of removing names from voter lists, Dunya News reported.

According to details, PML-N leaders have rejected Khan’s allegation that voter lists were tempered with at the last moment. Saad Rafique said Imran Khan should now come out of ‘rigging-phobia’.

Talking exclusively to Dunya News, the federal minister said that Imran Khan should now come out of the ‘rigging-phobia’ and focus on politics of issues.

National Assembly’s Member-elect Ayaz Sadiq said PTI chief should work together with the government for next 2.5 years and can contest election against PML-N afterwards.

The PML-N leader also said Imran Khan should learn giving respect to others and talk in lower tone.
