Minister of Industries says govt is serious in addressing the concerns of the traders

MULTAN: (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Industries Khurram Dastgir Khan has on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will decide over the withdrawal of withholding tax. He said that the government is serious in addressing the concerns of the traders, reported Dunya News.

Addressing the industrialists and Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI), Khurram said that the government wants progress in industrial sector throughout the country including Multan and said that the government is going to announce a new 3-year trade policy within next 15 days. He said that the relief will be provided through State Bank.

Khurram Dastgir Khan said that Pakistan will have to improve its export up to international standard and that is the only way to progress. “It is time now that each and every thread of cotton becomes textile”, said the minister. He said that the excess LNG gas will help curb the energy and gas crisis within next 6 months. He said that Gwadar-Nawabshah pipeline is about to begin and the government of Pakistan will lay down the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline.

Federal minister told that the government is in talks with China, Thailand and Turkey over free trade and trade with Korea will also start next year. He said that peace in Karachi guarantees progress in the country and the government wants to give relief to the traders.

Khurram announced providing machinery for Cold Chain and Hot Water treatment plants in Multan but also asked the traders to look after the machinery. He also announced to make an expo center in Multan and demanded suggestions from President of the chamber for sick units. He also stressed upon sending skilled labour to the Gulf countries.
