Decision to discharge Dr. Asim from hospital challenged in SC

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) -- Decision to discharge Dr. Asim Hussain from the hospital has been challenged in the Supreme Court on Thursday. Wife of Dr. Asim Hussain has filed appeal against the decision in Sindh High Court, reported Dunya News.
Wife of Dr. Asim Hussain, Zarin, filed the appeal through Advocate Abid Zuberi and has made federation, provincial government, Rangers and Department of Cardiology of the Hospital party to the case.
It was argued in the appeal that obtaining medical treatment is a fundamental right of Dr. Asim Hussain under the Constitution. It has been appealed that Rangers have been unable to treat Dr Asim while the latter’s condition also appeared to be critical under while in custody, however, his high blood pressure and diabetes was not properly treated. The report on health condition of Dr Asim Hussain is not neutral. Due to the decision of Sindh High Court Rangers have been given a lot of undue powers, stated the appeal.
In an appeal to the Supreme Court, it has been asked to revoke the decision of the Sindh High Court to discharge Dr Asim from the hospital and asked that Dr Asim Hussain be admitted to the hospital for medical treatment.
