ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has on Thursday laid out the policy for the Non Governmental Organizations (NGO). The policy says that the INGOs will not be allowed to collect funds without government approval and their registration will only be done through online system now and proving of any violation will lead to automatic cancellation of the registration, reported Dunya News.

Announcing the policy for INGOs at a press conference in Islamabad, Chaudhry Nisar told that there will be no manual registration of the NGOs from now on and only the Interior Minister will have the authority to register an organization. All the applications will be received online and in case of approval, the NGO will have to sign a 3-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the government of Pakistan. He further said that a special committee has been set up for monitoring.

According to the new policy, the NGOs will not be able to collect any funds without government approval and the visas of the INGO employees will also not be altered. INGOs will also not be able to receive any help from local NGOs without government approval. The registration will be cancelled immediately if any activity proves to be going against the interests of Pakistan.

Nisar said that the policy was not aimed at banning anyone. He said that the government will facilitate those working for the betterment of Pakistan.
