Flood Control Authority directed relocation of residents of 30 villages around river in Gujranwala

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Flood Control Authority has on Sunday issued flood warning in Chenab River and has directed the residents of 30 villages around the river in Gujranwala region to relocate, reported Dunya News.

According to the officials, rains are expected in the central Punjab districts including Gujranwala, Gujarat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Narowal and others from September 21 to 24 due to which water level in Chenab may rise up to 300,000 cusecs.

Ex-En Chenab Asghar Ali Chohan has said that water level will start rising tonight and the residents of 30 villages of Gujranwala situated around the river have been directed to relocate. He said that all the measures have been taken by the administration.

On the other hand, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab says that all the rivers and streams are flowing as per routine but flood can be expected after rains.
