MULTAN (Dunya News) – Punjab Food Authority (PFA) and district administration sealed 10 illegal slaughterhouses on Monday. More than 80 kilograms of spoilt meat was taken into custody, reported Dunya News.

PFA and district administration got into action in inner city to close down the operations of illegal slaughterhouses and sealed 10 such establishments. The confiscated meat was then spoiled by the authorities.

Owners of illegal slaughter house argued that due the lack of adequate facilities in government slaughter houses, they are forced to build illegal slaughter houses. It has been a common practice in the inner city that butchers buy sick cattle at bargain rates and sell them at high prices after slaughtering them.
