Steel mills pending salaries: ECC skips discussion in meeting
At least Rs 1 billion required for provision of salaries, says administration
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Government seems to have turned deaf ears to Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) employees’ necessities as the matter of three-month pending salaries was not raised in Economic Coordination Committee’s (ECC) meeting.
Sources said that in ECC’s meeting held yesterday, the matter was supposed to be discussed however, the members did not bother to rectify the situation.
PSM is hit by worst kind of financial crisis. Employees have been eyeing government’s attention for a long time. The administration said that for provision of salaries and to run the industry, at least Rs 1 billion are required.
